It's been a while since I did a fantasy football update; mostly because it's been a while since there was any good news. Still no good news to report, but here's an update anyway.
Actually there is a bit of good news. Bruinskins I won their second game in a row. Strong performances by Vince Young (probably my best waiver wire pick up of the year) and Chad Ochocinco drove the win. I also got good numbers from Fred Davis at TE, another nice waiver wire pick up. Unfortunately, the hole dug by such misfires as Jay Cutler, Matt Forte, Clinton Portis, and so on will be too much to overcome even if I were to run the table. I'm 4-8-1 and 10th place in a league where only 4 teams make the playoffs.
Bruinskins II lost to fall to 7-6, putting them in 7th place in another 4 team playoff league. Subpar performances by Adrian Peters, Dallas Clark, and Mike Sim-Walker put the kibosh on the team this week. Who'd have thought Correll Buckhalter would out score Peterson?
Steve's Skins (my Yahoo PPR points championship league) posted a lousy 91 points and remains in fifth place. Kudos to the Tabbster for posting a whopping 170 points to take over first place in the race for the coveted PB.com championship.
Finally, Cowboys Drool lost (to a girl!) thanks to subpar performances by Tim Hightower and the Saints DST. Given that my honorable opponent got over 18 points from both Brees and Addai and 15 points from a kicker (Prater), however, I was clearly outgunned. So I finished the regular season in 5th place at 7-6. The 6-team playoffs start next week with my guys matched up against a team that spanked us 90-78 in week 5.
