Nozzole Il Pareto (Tuscany) 2001

This 100% cabernet sauvignon Tuscan red wine is quite delicious. Still quite a deep purple-ruby at age 8. A big nose, suggestive of dark fruits and oak. Black cherry, blackberry, and earth. Good acidity makes it very food friendly. I suspect I would have flagged it as Italian in a blind tasting. It has that certain quality that only Italy produces in cabernet. Grade: A-/A
