According to a WSJ poll:
Half of Americans, if they had the choice, would vote to replace every member of Congress, including their own representative, the survey found.
Instead of a Tea party, maybe we need a Clean Slate Party.

What about wiping it all away except for the Bill of Rights? And of course keep Amendments 13-15 and, uh, 19.

The problem is that the poll didn't ask if they knew who their representative and senators were... at which point it would have shown that about 80% of a representative sample (pun intended) don't. Which means that the American public wants to replace people it doesn't know who they are... and, more probably, 50% of the country wants to replace Jim Bunning (R-Pluto) and Strom Thurmond (R-Insane Asylum).
My modest proposal would be a little bit different: That we get rid of caucus-selected constitutional officers. That will do away with a lot of the problems right there...

I am already on board. I will vote for no incumbents no mater how good their record is or how much I agree with their politics. If all of us do the same we will solve the constant political posturing and bickering in a couple of election cycles. If we clean out the House and a third of the Senate on the first cycle we can get the next third of the senate on the next cycle. If the third of the remaining Senators don't "get it" then we can always eliminate them on the third election cycle. I don't think three elections will be required.

But since, apparently, they'd get rid of their own representatives only if they could get rid of everyone else's in the process, there's no point running a Clean Slate slate.
