Brad Delong once again bashes yours truly by ignoring context:
STEPHEN BAINBRIDGE TELLS JONATHAN ZASLOFF: I WON'T TRY TO CONVINCE REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS OF THINGS I THINK ARE TRUE BECAUSE YOU WON'T TRY TO CONVINCE DEMOCRATIC POLITICIANS OF THINGS YOU THINK ARE FALSE
Yep.
Great moral stance you have there, Stephen...
As Zasloff himself acknowledged, we were having a "friendly debate" that lurched into farce:
I was being somewhat facetious about him persuading the House Republican Conference, and I think he was responding in kind. ...
I think Steve was being pretty facetious.
Yep. Maybe Delong was just too lazy to bother reading what Zasloff wrote in the comments. Or maybe he's once again engaging in "selective editing." To quote Adler again, "Yes, this is the same Professor DeLong who repeats baseless accusations against other academics and then, when asked to substantiate his charges, selectively edits his comment threads and then dissembles about said editing when called on it."
No wonder the late Larry Ribstein wrote "that a discussion with the likes of Brad DeLong is not productive." Once again, yep.
I believe it was George Bernard Shaw who said "I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it." So I'm going back to ignoring him.
