Dear Bill: The advanced symbol browser of MS Word for Macs displays the symbols in a format so minuscule that a 53 year old like me has no chance of making them out:
Kindly fix this. While you're at it, because the advanced symbol broswer has what seems like a 100 or so different font categories, a search function would be useful.
Also, early word processors allowed you to pull up a menu of symbols, upon which you would then click the chosen one, which then would be automatically inserted into the text. The advanced symbol browser does this. But the basic symbol broswer, which pulls up the insert media dialog box, does not. Why?
Once again, you've made the program unnecessarily complicated. Most of us just need a glorified typewriter. Get over it and keep it simple, stupid.
