As regular readers of my wine notes know, I am a huge fan of Foxen. Although I started out being interested mainly in Foxen's justly famous Pinot Noirs, I've also come to appreciate their Foxen 7200 line of Bordeaux- and Italianate-styled wines. Although I am not convinced it could age the 10-15 years Foxen
claims, the 2009 Rock Hollow Cabernet Franc is a wine that provides considerable current pleasure. Foxen's tasting note says to look for,
inter alia, plum and cherry. Fair enough, but I also detected a strong blackberry element. In any case, this is a great wine for near term enjoyment with a wide range of foods. Grade: B++
