I've never agreed with anything Nell Minow's said about shareholder rights. Nothing. Nada. Zip. (The feeling's more than reciprocated: "Bainbridge ... has been consistently wrong about just about everything since his defense of excessive CEO compensation more than 20 years ago." She's still mad about me calling her a self-appointed shareholders spokesman in that article lo those many years ago.)
But I follow her on Twitter anyway and so was alerted to a very interesting post she wrote on investing in Broadway plays. I think it's spot on, and especially liked her advice that "anytime there’s a follow-up to a huge hit, you might do better to short the show."
Is there a market in Broadway futures? I suppose you could write a contract on Intrade that you then short?
