Despite suffering from a twisted ankle and a scraped knee (don't ask), I manned up and made Ina Garten's Warm Duck Salad for dinner tonight.
Although the picture has a red wine in it, it turned out that that bottle of the 2008 Beaux Frères Pinot Noir Beaux Frères Vineyard was seriously flawed.
So I dumped it and opened the Mumm sparking wine. Lovely soft yellow color with tons of very fine bubbles. Powerful bouquet suggesting freshly baked bread, buttered toast, apples, and Meyer lemon. Ditto on the palate. Medium bodied. Good length to the finish. Grade: 90
